A fascinating and tragic story of construction of the opera in Sydney, which is today’s landmark of both Australia and Syndey. The bitter taste of lack of compromise and a creative attitude towards architecture and Utzon’s victory and failure as an architect have been beautifully shot in Daryl Dellor’s film.

The ups and downs of the great Czech architect, who died in 2009. He emigrated and never managed to come back to Prague. His best works have been erected in Birmingham and London. Death knocked at his door when his biggest dream, the construction of the National Library in Prague, was coming true. The facility was built according to the project that won the contest in 2007. It is a beautiful portrait of the pessimist architect, a relentless experimenter.
