Interprint will take part in Łódź Design Festival for the fourteenth time. In line with the tradition, it also funds one of the awards in the make me! contest. The exhibition accompanying the contest, presenting the most interesting designs of creators from all around the world will be organised in the glazed pavilions in the OFF Piotrkowska complex. Exactly next to it you will find an original art installation of Interprint, creatively building upon the chief slogan of the festival: BETTER.
The inspiring presentation of the company’s offer, entitled “I choose myself”, turns attention to combining personal comfort with taking advantage of resources in a responsible and conscious manner. The concept of art installation was elaborated in collaboration with Maja Palczewska, an industrial designer and interior architect.
“I choose myself” turns attention to what is authentic, permanent, and does not become boring quick. It also take a closer look at excessive consumerism, accompanied by trend chasing. This, in turn, often lead us to become surrounded with cheap, low quality items, which can be discarded quickly and with no regrets. Interprint suggests an alternative solution, i.e. a model involving prior reflection and based on profound immersion in oneself. Thus, it is worth starting with discovering one’s actual preferences and needs, finding one’s own style. Once we establish these, we can surround ourselves fully consciously with items, colours and shapes that resonate with us – and not only with the current trends. Then we can feel that it is a right thing to make an investment in a well considered design, a beautiful piece of furniture or unique materials.
Thus, the “I choose myself” art installation combines individualism and seeks authenticity with a large dose of responsibility, care for resources and the well-being of our planet.
